Orelle - in the middle of Europe's highest ski area!
The glamorous resort Orelle is located in the famous 3 Vallées, in the biggest ski area in Europe! You can reach Val Thorens in approx. 15 minutes with the gondola, so that you can enjoy a perfect link to great pistes. Baroque buildings, little stone houses with slate roofs and the local hospitality give Orelle its unforgettable charm. The traditional and family-friendly resort brings incomparable holidays to young and old. Children up to 6 years are well taken care of in the "The Mazot of Croés" and numerous activities on and apart from the pistes ensure loads of variety. Tourists as well as locals from surrounding resorts, Valmeinier and Valfréjus, often make a day trip to Orelle to relax in a breathtaking scenery and enjoy the runs in the ski area - come and see for yourself!
SkiWith the lift pass "Val Thorens-Orelle" 150 km of pistes (78 runs) and 32 lifts are available to you at an altitude of up to 3,230 m. Here, the dream of endless pistes and daily changing runs becomes reality. The perfect connection between lifts and pistes, never ending and fantastic runs in the alpine pasture and forest area are the typical trade mark for the breathtaking pistes in Orelle/Val Thorens.
The diverse runs offer something for every skier. From practice pistes to steep pistes and powder snow runs, everything that the skier's heart desires can be found here. A few runs are in close proximity to the piste and others need to be climbed up to. Snowboarders can grab the first opportunity to prove their skills on a boarder-cross route that leads to Val Thorens over the peak "Cime de Caron".
But those who think this is still not enough have the opportunity to upgrade their lift pass to the "3 Vallées" and enjoy incredible 600 km of pistes and 169 lifts. The runs of the picturesque valleys that are glaciated by the Vanoise-Massiv with the "Grand Casse" (3,852) and leads to the highest peak "Moûtiers", stretches out to a beautiful scenery with a view on the Mont Blanc, a powder snow paradise with a total of 250 m². And before you start: Enjoy the breathtaking view of more than 1,000 peaks of the Italian, Swiss and French Alps, because they are located in the highest ski area in Europe.
For all those who can't part with their skis, twice a week there is night skiing on a brightly illuminated piste (depends on time of season).
When it comes to après ski, it is rather quiet in Orelle. Here you can comfortably let the exciting ski day fade away in a restaurant, treat yourself in one of the spas or just be fascinated by the mountain landscape, while enjoying the numerous winter hiking routes.
Those who like it a little bit more active can take a trip to the 17 km away Valmeinier. Here you have the choice between different bars, restaurants, cinemas and clubs. Furthermore, there are open air ice skating rinks, various winter hiking routes around the villages, a bowling lane, guided snow shoe hikes, a toboggan run, paragliding and ice climbing. And for those who do not get enough from skiing, twice a week night skiing is organised (depending on season).
Cross-country in the 3 Valleys? No Problem! Approx. 130 km of trails are available to you in the entire region! 28 km of trails go along the Les Menuires between an altitude of 1,450 - 1,850 m and a majority of the trails are rather demanding. The routes are built along the Belleville valley and offer impressive views on the surrounding mountains.
Courchevel has a total of 67 km of trails, which is the reason why it is the most interesting resort when it comes to cross-country. The 2.5 km high altitude trail "Col de la Loze" that deviates at an altitude of 2,300 m is just spectacular! With a length of 17 km and being very demanding, the longest trail of Courchevel that leads to the Méribel Altiport can shine. The longest trail in Les Menuires challenges the advanced skiers, especially: The "Le Doron" brings you to an altitude of 1,400 - 1,650 m in a proud distance of 21 km!
Val Thorens just has 1 trail, but that trail will throw you for a loop! The "La Combe de Caron" lies between an altitude of 1,800 - 3,200 m and due to its demanding difficulty levels, it is exclusively only suitable for advanced skiers!
