La Joue du Loup in English translates to "the wolf's cheek". However, this cosy location in the south west of the Départements Hautes-Alpes is everything but raw and wild. The still-young ski village is a snowy and well-maintained station in the heart
of the Seealpen, around 95 km away from Grenoble, and stands for comfort and family-friendly ski fun! While castles are nowhere to be found, a lot more awaits in this little location, with its cosy chalets traditionally constructed of wood- hence the charming
nickname, the "Village of Wood".
Despite its humble size, La Joue du Loup is certainly not to be overlooked. In the lively village centre, you can find shops, restaurants and cafes waiting to be strolled by, sauntered into, and feasted in. Due to the size of the location, you can go exclusively
a short distance to the lifts, shops, and dining opportunities. Diverse leisure activities, such as snowshoe hiking, dog- or horse-sledding, or even movie theatre nights provide plenty of variety besides the pistes. The way to the ski area SuperDévoluy lies
right in the area.
